Learning Coach for NEETS & SEND

About the role

Reed Further Education is seeking a passionate Learning Coach to support 16‑19 year‑olds with NEET status and additional needs, including SEND, SEMH and EHCPs. The role combines direct learner support, employer engagement and coordination of work placements to help young people achieve education, employment and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of learners, delivering regular reviews, interventions and support.
• Provide engaging Maths and English sessions up to Level 2.
• Support learners with SEND, SEMH and EHCPs to meet individual targets.
• Coordinate and monitor work‑experience placements and liaise with employers.
• Build positive relationships with parents/carers, local authorities and external agencies.
• Track progress, maintain accurate records and provide careers guidance.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, inclusion and positive outcomes.
• Develop learners’ employability, personal and independent‑living skills.

Required profile

• Experience supporting young people aged 16‑19, preferably with SEND, SEMH or EHCPs.
• Ability to deliver Maths and English up to Level 2 (Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Strong organisational and caseload‑management abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and learner wellbeing.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
