About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic Learning Mentors to support pupils in a Barking primary school. You will help students overcome personal and academic challenges, fostering emotional well‑being and confidence.
Key responsibilities
- Mentor and guide students in their behavioural development.
- Assist SEN pupils in setting and achieving personal and educational targets.
- Engage with a variety of learning activities and programmes.
- Implement strategies to manage and de‑escalate challenging behaviours.
- Act as a positive role model to build confidence and self‑esteem.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and other mentors to create a comprehensive support network.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Behaviour or Learning Mentor is preferred.
- Experience in SEN, challenging behaviour, coaching or youth work is highly desirable.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
- Empathetic, patient and resilient nature.
