Learning Mentor – Primary School (EYFS to KS2)

About the role

We are seeking a warm, committed Learning Mentor to join our primary school team in North West London from October 2026. The role supports pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping them overcome learning barriers, improve wellbeing and build confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with challenging home lives and SEMH.
• Build strong, trusting relationships to support confidence, motivation and positive behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, pastoral teams and social workers to deliver targeted support.
• Contribute to a calm, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Adapt flexibly to the needs of the pupils and the school day.

Required profile

• A proactive, reliable and compassionate learning mentor who genuinely enjoys working with children.
• Patience, emotional maturity and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Common sense and a working knowledge of safeguarding.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships quickly.
• Experience in schools, childcare, youth work or mentoring (desirable, not essential).
• Good general knowledge in English and Maths to support pupils confidently.
