Learning Mentor – SEN Support Role

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join an outstanding SEN school in Chester. In this role you will provide one‑to‑one support to students with special educational needs, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised one‑to‑one support to students with SEN, including learning difficulties, behavioural or emotional challenges.
• Develop and implement individual learning plans tailored to each student’s needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a cohesive, supportive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and assess the effectiveness of interventions.
• Support the development of essential life skills, confidence and self‑esteem.
• Promote an inclusive school culture through positive interaction with students, parents and staff.

Required profile

• Experience working with students with SEN, preferably in a school setting.
• Good knowledge of various SEN conditions and effective support strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Adaptability and resilience when facing the unique challenges of a SEN environment.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Genuine passion for making a positive impact on students with SEN.
