Learning Mentor – SEND School (Full‑Time, £25k)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Learning Mentor to join a supportive SEND school in SE11, London, starting September 2026. This full‑time, term‑time position offers the chance to help young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group mentoring support to pupils.
• Build positive, professional relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
• Encourage positive engagement with learning and school life.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and external agencies as required.
• Promote safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational, mentoring, youth work, or support capacity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, resilience, and ability to build trusting relationships.
• Proactive and flexible approach to supporting learners.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
