Learning Support Assistant – 1:1 Support (Supply FE Bank)

About the role

The Learning Support Assistant will work across several NCG colleges in South London, providing one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance to learners. This supply‑bank position offers flexible, sessional work to help students overcome learning barriers and achieve their goals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 and small‑group support across a range of subjects.
• Assist learners with SEND, EHCPs and other barriers to learning.
• Support lecturers with classroom activities, differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies.
• Create a safe, positive learning environment that encourages engagement and progress.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, support teams and external professionals.

Required profile

• Experience in education, care or youth‑support settings.
• Understanding of SEND, learning barriers and inclusive support methods.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Patience, adaptability and a learner‑focused approach.
• Relevant qualifications in learning support, education or care (desirable).
