Learning Support Assistant – 14 to 16 Provision

About the role

The Learning Support Assistant will join the 14‑to‑16 provision at Berkshire College of Agriculture, helping students access lessons and achieve their learning goals. This part‑time, term‑time position works 20 hours per week across three days, providing a supportive presence in classrooms and one‑to‑one settings.

Key responsibilities

• Support whole classes, small groups or individual students in line with college policies and EHCPs.
• Assist with planning, delivery and review of learning activities.
• Help students with assignments, exam preparation and the development of essential English, mathematics and ICT skills.
• Monitor student behaviour and maintain confidential records.
• Adapt learning materials and support the use of specialist equipment where required.

Required profile

• Positive attitude, proactive approach and strong organisational skills.
• Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
• Understanding of how to support neuro‑divergent learners and those with additional learning needs.

Required skills

• ICT proficiency.
