Learning Support Assistant – Aspiring Educational Psychologist (Graduate)

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position is for a recent university graduate who wants to build experience towards a career as an Educational Psychologist, Child Psychologist or Speech and Language Therapist. You will join a specialist SEN school in Salisbury as a Learning Support Assistant, working directly with children who have autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, physical disabilities, and emotional‑behavioural challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Support individual pupils to stay on track with their work and meet developmental milestones.
• Assist the class teacher in creating a fun, inclusive classroom environment.
• Provide social and emotional support, encouraging peer interaction and development.
• Implement and follow individualised support plans and learning strategies.
• Collaborate with senior staff to monitor progress and adapt interventions.

Required profile

• University graduate with a strong interest in mental health, neurodiversity and inclusive education.
• Passionate about Special Educational Needs (SEN) and willing to learn.
• Previous experience with children is beneficial but not essential.

Required skills

• Ability to follow and apply individualized support plans.
• Effective communication with children, teachers and support staff.
• Basic understanding of autism, ADHD and speech‑language difficulties.
