Learning Support Assistant – Criminology Graduate (Swindon)

About the role

We are seeking a recent Criminology or Psychology graduate to join our unique mental‑health focused school in Swindon as a Learning Support Assistant. You will work directly with children who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression and other complex mental‑health needs, providing day‑to‑day emotional and therapeutic support.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor and guide pupils throughout the school day, promoting resilience and a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, speech therapists and occupational therapists to ensure each child’s safety and well‑being.
• Identify behavioural triggers and apply de‑escalation techniques to manage challenging situations.
• Support the therapeutic classroom approach by delivering tailored interventions.

Required profile

• Recent graduate in Criminology or Psychology.
• Enthusiastic, bubbly and outgoing personality.
• Passion for working with vulnerable children and a strong role‑model attitude.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required.

What we offer

• Full‑time, long‑term contract (Permanent/Contract).
• On‑site work in Swindon, Monday to Friday, 08:30‑15:30.
• Daily rate of £90‑£100.
