Learning Support Assistant – Flexible Full‑time/Part‑time

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to work across primary, secondary and SEN schools in Gateshead and surrounding areas. The role offers flexible full‑time or part‑time placements, with immediate start dates and the possibility of long‑term or permanent positions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils with diverse learning needs.
• Assist classroom teachers with lesson delivery without taking on planning or marking duties.
• Adapt support strategies to suit different age ranges and school environments.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and support activities.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for helping pupils achieve their potential.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, positive attitude.
• Ability to work flexibly across various school settings.
• No QTS required – suitable for graduates, career changers or experienced support staff.

Required skills

• Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential).
