Learning Support Assistant – Full‑time (Clacton‑on‑Sea)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Clacton‑on‑Sea from September. The role involves supporting pupils academically and socially within an inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with additional learning needs.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, delivery and classroom management.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing observations with teachers and parents.
• Promote a safe, supportive and engaging learning atmosphere.
• Participate in staff meetings and safeguarding duties as required.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children in a UK school setting (placements accepted).
• Strong communication skills and a patient, nurturing approach.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS.
• Two professional child‑related references.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt support strategies.
