About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join Hertford Regional College on a temporary basis. You will work in the state‑of‑the‑art Millbrook campus in Ware, supporting learners with autism, ADHD and a range of additional needs.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 or small‑group support to students, helping them access the curriculum.
- Assist with developing life skills, social interaction and independence.
- Maintain a calm classroom environment and manage challenging behaviours.
- Record and report safeguarding information accurately.
- Support personal care, medical needs or specialist equipment where required (training provided).
Required profile
- Excellent communication, empathy and patience.
- Ability to work under the guidance of class tutors.
- Willingness to follow safeguarding procedures.
Required skills
- Makaton communication aid.
