About the role
We are seeking a motivated Learning Support Assistant to join a mainstream school in Manchester for a full academic year. This role is ideal for recent graduates in Psychology or a core subject who want to gain hands‑on experience supporting children, including those with SEND.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 personalised learning support for pupils with SEND across KS3‑KS4.
- Assist class teachers with lesson delivery and cover lessons when required.
- Lead or support small‑group interventions to reinforce learning.
- Promote positive behaviour and develop social‑emotional skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and other staff to create an inclusive environment.
Required profile
- UK degree in Psychology or a core subject.
- Genuine passion for working with children and supporting additional needs.
- Previous experience in a school, nursery, placement or voluntary role is desirable.
- Willingness to obtain a DBS check on the Update Service.
- Ability to provide references covering the last two years.
- Flexibility, adaptability and patience.
