Learning Support Assistant – Part‑time/Full‑time (Sept 2026)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work in primary schools across Colchester starting in September 2026. The position can be part‑time or full‑time, with daily hours from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with additional learning needs.
• Assist classroom teachers in delivering lesson plans and adapting activities.
• Monitor student progress and record observations for teachers.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Collaborate with school staff to implement individualized education plans.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) with online update service.
• Two professional references related to child work.
