Learning Support Assistant (PMLD & SLD) – Greenwich

About the role
This temporary full‑time position is based in a specialist school in Greenwich, supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD). You will work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to create a safe, nurturing learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group assistance to pupils with complex learning, sensory and communication needs.
- Support personal care respectfully when required.
- Use visual aids, sensory strategies and tailored interventions to promote engagement and independence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized plans.
- Help maintain a structured and safe classroom setting.
Required profile
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, PMLD or SLD.
- Calm, resilient and nurturing approach.
- Strong interest in education and desire for career progression.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Required skills
- Knowledge of visual aid techniques and sensory strategies.
- Ability to deliver tailored interventions for complex needs.
