Learning Support Assistant – Primary School (Full‑time)

About the role

The Learning Support Assistant will join a welcoming primary school to help pupils of all abilities access the curriculum and thrive socially and emotionally. Working closely with teachers, you will provide tailored support both in the classroom and during school activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist pupils with academic tasks, reinforcing learning objectives.
• Support children with additional learning needs and SEND requirements.
• Help the class teacher deliver engaging lessons and manage classroom behaviour.
• Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group assistance during lessons, break times and extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare or educational setting.
• Patient, caring and adaptable attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
