Learning Support Assistant – Primary School (Havering, London)

About the role
The school in Havering, London is looking for two dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work one‑to‑one with pupils who have a range of special educational needs. The role starts in September 2026 and runs until July 2027, with the possibility of a permanent contract thereafter.
Key responsibilities
- Provide personalised learning support to an allocated child throughout the school day.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher, Phase Lead and SENCO to adapt lessons and activities.
- Assist with pastoral care and contribute to the wellbeing of pupils.
- Participate in weekly planning and development meetings.
- Offer class cover when required and support wider school initiatives.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a Learning Support Assistant in a primary school setting.
- Experience working with children who have an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or other SEN needs.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills and a professional approach.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Ability to work flexibly across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 according to experience.
