Learning Support Assistant – Primary School

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Horsham. This full‑time, temporary position offers a rewarding routine and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the daily learning experience of young pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities.
• Work with pupils one‑on‑one or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist with behaviour management and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Prepare learning materials and resources as directed.
• Provide individualised assistance to children with additional needs.
• Help with classroom organisation, displays and tidying.
• Supervise pupils during breaks, transitions and off‑site activities.
• Offer pastoral support and encourage positive social skills.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school policies at all times.

Required profile

• Experience working in a school setting.
• DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a busy primary environment.
• Proactive, patient and supportive approach to working with children.
