Learning Support Assistant – Psychology & Criminology Graduates

About the role
We are seeking recent Psychology or Criminology graduates to join a secondary school in Camberley as Learning Support Assistants. You will work alongside teachers to support vulnerable children with social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them achieve positive outcomes and avoid the criminal justice system.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning experiences for students with moderate learning difficulties.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support, focusing on restorative and therapeutic approaches.
- Identify and escalate risks and needs, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed.
- Build strong, consistent relationships with students to promote safety, empowerment and resilience.
- Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions and on‑site training programmes.
Required profile
- Recent graduate in Psychology or Criminology.
- Passion for restorative practice and supporting disadvantaged youth.
- Willingness to work on‑site in Camberley and commute daily.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and safeguarding teams.
Required skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Empathetic listening and compassionate approach.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
