Learning Support Assistant – Reception (Level 3)

About the role

Reed Education is recruiting on behalf of an inclusive primary school in Bexley for a Level 3 Learning Support Assistant to join the Reception team. The role focuses on supporting young children during the early years of their education, helping them develop socially, emotionally and academically.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within a Reception classroom.
• Assist children with early literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Facilitate learning through play and child‑led activities.
• Promote positive social and emotional development.
• Work with individuals and small groups to support learning and development.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Provide support for children with additional needs where required.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Assist with observations, assessments and learning records.
• Encourage positive behaviour and independence.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years or Supporting Teaching and Learning.
• Experience working with children in an EYFS or Reception setting.
• Strong understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Caring, patient and enthusiastic attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
