Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School (East London)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a high‑performing boys’ secondary school in East London. The role starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to work within a supportive, disciplined environment, helping students aged 11‑18 access the curriculum and develop confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils across a range of subjects.
• Assist teachers and SEN staff in delivering lessons and adapting resources.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and promote student engagement.
• Encourage independence, confidence and active participation among learners.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor and report on student progress.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and patient attitude with a proactive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
• Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check (or already on the update service).

Required skills

• Experience working with young people (desirable but not mandatory).
