About the role
We are partnering with a well‑regarded secondary school in Shenfield, Essex, rated GOOD by Ofsted. The school seeks a caring Learning Support Assistant to join its inclusive team and help students aged 11‑16 reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities
- Provide classroom support for Key Stages 3 and 4, working alongside teachers.
- Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions to boost engagement and progress.
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to access the curriculum.
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Assist teachers in preparing and adapting classroom resources.
- Collaborate with the SEN department, pastoral team, and teaching staff.
Required profile
- Previous experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, care or support settings (desirable).
- Genuine passion for helping students achieve their potential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and take initiative.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Required skills

- Full‑time, Monday‑Friday role (8:30 am‑3:30 pm).
- Competitive daily rate of £90‑£110, dependent on experience.
