Learning Support Assistant – Secondary (Temp to Perm)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our secondary school in Horsham. The role focuses on supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, ensuring they receive tailored assistance throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for secondary‑aged students with SEND and SEMH.
• Engage in active play and physical activities on the classroom floor.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.
• Carry out safe holds and physical interventions when required.
• Monitor student progress and report observations to senior staff.

Required profile

• Experience supporting secondary pupils with SEND and SEMH.
• High energy and physical fitness to participate in active play.
• Comfortable with safe handling techniques and holds.
• Commitment to a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
