Learning Support Assistant (SEN Autism Support)

About the role

TeacherActive is partnering with a specialist SEN school in Chatham that supports children with Autism/ASD. The school offers a nurturing environment and seeks a Learning Support Assistant on a long‑term basis to help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

• Support children with Autism/ASD in their daily learning activities.
• Provide individualized classroom assistance to ensure pupils stay engaged.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff to adapt lessons and support strategies.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
• Experience supporting children with Autism/ASD.
• A caring and nurturing approach with strong communication skills.
• Patience, resilience and a positive, supportive attitude.
