Learning Support Assistant (SEN)

About the role

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work in a welcoming school in Romford, supporting pupils with additional needs. The role is full‑time and based on‑site, offering the chance to make a real difference in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils with SEND.
• Assist children in staying engaged with learning activities and accessing the curriculum.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and SEND staff to plan and deliver tailored support.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence and independence.
• Create and maintain a calm, structured classroom environment where pupils can thrive.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children or young people, preferably with SEND.
• Patience, empathy and a positive attitude.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage a busy classroom.
• Enthusiasm for celebrating small achievements and making a genuine daily impact.
