Learning Support Assistant – SEN Support in Southend

About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive school in Southend-on-Sea. You will work closely with teachers to help pupils with special educational needs access the curriculum and achieve their personal goals.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEN.
- Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and a safe, engaging classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and staff to monitor progress.
- Encourage independence, confidence and personal development in pupils.
Required profile
- Patience, empathy and resilience.
- Strong commitment to inclusive education.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- Proactive and caring attitude.
Required skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching materials.
- Basic understanding of SEN strategies.
