Learning Support Assistant (SEND) – Blackpool

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Learning Support Assistant (SEND) to join a supportive school environment in Blackpool. You will work closely with pupils who have autism, ADHD and other learning difficulties, providing one‑to‑one and two‑to‑one support to help them access the curriculum and develop independence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and 2:1 support for students with a range of SEND needs.
• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering inclusive lessons.
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
• Support academic tasks, social development and emotional regulation.
• Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Assist pupils during transitions, breaks and off‑site activities as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role.
• Experience supporting pupils in 1:1 and 2:1 settings.
• Understanding of SEND needs such as autism, ADHD and learning difficulties.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ) are desirable.

Required skills

• Knowledge of behaviour management techniques such as Team Teach.
