Learning Support Assistant – Term‑time Role

About the role

We are looking for a Learning Associate to join our 11‑18 school on a term‑time basis. Working Monday to Friday, 8:15 am‑3:00 pm, you will support students with SEND both inside the classroom and in small‑group settings.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Learning – SEND and subject teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes.
• Provide personal care (mobility, toileting) and accompany students on out‑of‑school activities.
• Support individual students with assignments, act as reader/scribe for access tests, and maintain accurate student records.
• Liaise with educational psychologists, speech‑language therapists and other professionals as required.
• Help enforce school policies and contribute feedback to staff.

Required profile

• Enthusiasm for learning and ability to encourage student independence.
• Broad general education with at least a C grade in GCSE English, Mathematics and Science (or equivalent).
• Flexibility, adaptability and willingness to seek advice and pursue professional development.

Required skills

• Basic ICT skills to support student learning.
