Learning Support Assistant – Travel and ICT

About the role

The Learning Support Assistant will join the Travel and ICT department at the Slough and Langley College campus, working 37 hours per week across the term‑time year. Reporting to the Head of Department and senior academic staff, you will help students fully access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, delivering and evaluating learning activities for whole classes, small groups and individual students.
• Support students in overcoming physical, emotional or learning barriers.
• Help with assignments, exam preparation and the development of English, mathematics and ICT skills.
• Monitor student behaviour and maintain confidential records.
• Adapt learning materials and support the use of specialist equipment.

Required profile

• Positive attitude with experience working with young adults, preferably in an educational setting.
• Flexibility to work across departments or remotely when needed.
• Level 2 qualifications (GCSE A‑C or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
• Experience or qualifications supporting learners with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia or Dyspraxia.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to provide physical support for mobility‑impaired students.
• Commitment to college policies on risk management, diversity, health & safety, data protection and safeguarding.
