Learning Support Assistant – Year 2 (Psychology/Criminology Graduate)

About the role
This temporary full‑time position supports a Year 2 class in a mainstream primary school in New Malden. It is designed for recent Psychology or Criminology graduates who want hands‑on experience in education and child development.
Key responsibilities
- Assist pupils in Key Stage 1 activities, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Support behaviour management for a mixed‑ability Year 2 class.
- Work one‑to‑one and in small groups to help children engage with the curriculum.
- Help pupils develop emotional regulation and overcome learning challenges.
Required profile
- Graduate in Psychology, Criminology or a related discipline.
- Experience working or volunteering with children (e.g., school, tutoring, childcare).
- Calm, empathetic and proactive attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
