About the role
We are looking for a passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Gateshead. The role supports teaching, learning and pupil progress across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping children build confidence, resilience and independence.
Key responsibilities
- Lead whole‑class learning sessions with confidence and energy.
- Deliver creative, targeted intervention programmes.
- Support pupils with SEND and additional needs to achieve their potential.
- Collaborate closely with teachers to drive progress across the school.
Required profile
- HLTA qualification (essential).
- Experience working in a primary school environment.
- Calm, confident and positive approach to behaviour management.
- Passion for inclusive education and pupil wellbeing.
