Lecturer – Adult Nursing & Community Health

About the role

The University of the West of Scotland is seeking an AC2 Lecturer to join the Department of Adult Nursing and Community Health. The role involves delivering high‑quality teaching and contributing to research across adult nursing, mental health, operating department practitioner and social care programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate lectures, seminars and practical sessions.
• Develop and update module content to ensure clinical relevance and currency.
• Contribute to programme and module design, including assessment strategies.
• Engage in consultancy, continuing professional development (CPD) and scholarly activities.
• Support student learning and wellbeing, promoting equality and diversity.

Required profile

• NMC‑registered Adult Nurse (or equivalent professional registration such as HCPC or GDC) with relevant clinical experience.
• Degree and near‑completion of a Master's qualification.
• Demonstrated ability to work within established research and teaching programmes.
• Commitment to high‑quality teaching and an outstanding student experience.
• Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills.

• Understanding of equality, diversity and student‑need issues in higher education.
