Lecturer in Carpentry

About the role

Windsor Forest Colleges Group is seeking a full‑time Lecturer in Carpentry to join the Structural Technologies Department at Slough and Langley College. You will teach Level 1 and Level 2 Carpentry courses, design schemes of work and lesson plans, and deliver both theoretical and practical training to a diverse student body.

Key responsibilities

• Design comprehensive schemes of work and lesson plans for carpentry modules.
• Deliver practical and theoretical carpentry training to Level 1 and 2 students.
• Assess student performance, set learning milestones and provide academic and pastoral support.
• Maintain accurate student records and liaise with parents and external employers.
• Contribute to curriculum development, departmental quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Level 2 or higher qualification in Site Carpentry or Bench Joinery.
• Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics.
• Previous teaching experience in a vocational setting, with ability to embed core English and maths concepts.
• Preferably a formal teaching qualification (Level 4/5) or assessor awards.
• Strong organisational skills, classroom management and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
