Lecturer in Further Education & Skills (0.4 FTE)

About the role

The University of Brighton is seeking a passionate educator to join its Initial Teacher Education (ITE) team. This fixed‑term position (0.4 FTE) is based at the Falmer campus and contributes to the delivery of high‑quality Further Education and Skills programmes for trainee teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Further Education team in delivering an outstanding course.
• Contribute to assessment, academic support and student supervision.
• Assist students during school‑based training and professional learning placements.
• Participate in curriculum development, course review and collaborative work with partner schools.
• Utilise a range of teaching methods including lectures, seminars, tutorials, e‑learning, workshops and individual supervision.

Required profile

• Relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience supporting trainee teachers or contributing to ITE programmes.
• Strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Required skills

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience in delivering higher education teaching and assessment.
• Ability to develop and adapt curriculum materials.
