Legal Biller / Billing Assistant (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Biller to join our finance team on a 12‑month contract. Working in a hybrid model from London, you will support partners and fee earners by ensuring accurate, timely invoicing for a busy professional services firm.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly bills and credit notes from work‑in‑progress data.
• Process write‑offs, transfers and billing adjustments following fee‑earner instructions.
• Manage client‑specific billing arrangements and respond to invoice queries.
• Liaise with partners, fee earners and support teams to resolve billing issues.
• Maintain the shared billing inbox and generate billing reports and analysis.
• Support the finance team during peak periods and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Previous billing experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and client‑service skills.
• Positive, flexible attitude, especially during month‑end.

Required skills

• Aderant billing software (highly desirable).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
