Legal Counsel – Employment

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join a large, well‑established organisation’s in‑house legal team on a hybrid basis (approximately two days per month in the office). You will provide specialist advice across a broad spectrum of employment matters, supporting both contentious and non‑contentious work.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Employment Tribunal claims from Early Conciliation through to final hearing.
• Handle disciplinary, grievance, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE and trade‑union matters.
• Draft and review contracts, policies, procedures, settlement agreements and other employment documentation.
• Deliver employment‑law training and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Oversee external legal advisers and provide pragmatic, risk‑based advice.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with at least 4 years PQE in employment law.
• Strong experience handling Employment Tribunal cases.
• Excellent drafting and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to communicate practical legal advice to non‑legal audiences.
• Commercial, solutions‑focused approach; in‑house or large‑organisation experience advantageous but not essential.
