Legal Counsel – In‑House

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join Anglian Home Improvements in Norwich. The role sits in‑house, providing commercial‑focused legal advice to senior stakeholders and shaping the company’s legal function.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clear, pragmatic legal and commercial advice to executive management and operational teams.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal, regulatory and contractual risks, and maintain a robust risk‑management framework.
• Deliver legal training and guidance on key regulatory topics.
• Manage disputes and oversee external legal spend.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex B2B and B2C commercial contracts, including sales, procurement, services, SLAs, NDAs and bespoke agreements.
• Advise on contractual risk, liability, indemnities, pricing mechanisms and commercial protections.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Marketing and Operations on innovative contractual solutions.
• Embed effective contract management and governance practices across the business.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or equivalent with a law degree (2:1 or above).
• Significant post‑qualification experience in‑house and/or private practice.
• Proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Experience providing practical legal advice to senior stakeholders in a fast‑paced commercial environment.
• Commercially astute with the ability to manage legal risk.
