Legal Counsel

About the role

Join a leading UK construction, infrastructure and support services business working on major built‑environment projects. As a Legal Counsel you will manage contractual risk, support high‑value bids and contribute to sustainable development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal support across the pre‑construction lifecycle, reviewing contracts, identifying risks and advising on mitigation strategies.
• Assist bid teams and senior stakeholders with contractual exposure and high‑value bids.
• Handle disputes, claims and adjudications, delivering clear legal advice including risk and merits assessments.
• Support legal governance frameworks, maintain accurate documentation and contribute to risk‑management and continuous‑improvement processes.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with at least 3 years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
• Qualified in Scots law; dual qualification is an advantage.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure or related sectors.
• Proven ability to manage both contentious and non‑contentious construction matters.
• Commercial mindset and strong stakeholder management skills.
