Legal Counsel

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing, highly regulated infrastructure business delivering energy projects across the UK. Working in a collaborative environment, you will shape the legal strategy of a nationally significant enterprise while reporting directly to the General Counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on general commercial and regulatory legal matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, confidentiality agreements and heads of terms.
• Support procurement activities, advising on risk allocation, indemnities and liability provisions.
• Manage external legal advisers across specialist areas such as planning, consenting and regulatory matters.
• Provide legal support on infrastructure‑related projects.
• Advise on governance, compliance and regulatory obligations within a highly regulated environment.
• Assist the General Counsel with company secretarial and corporate governance matters, including Board support.
• Help manage disputes, litigation and arbitration matters.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales or Scotland.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in private practice and/or in‑house.
• Strong commercial contracts experience, including drafting and negotiating complex agreements.
• Experience in energy, infrastructure, construction, engineering or other regulated sectors is desirable.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving business environment.
