Legal Counsel – Life Sciences (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel specialising in Life Sciences to join our client’s team in Welwyn Garden City on a 12‑month contract. The role involves supporting the General Counsel and providing commercial and regulatory legal advice across the UK and Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for operational data privacy matters, handling Data Subject Requests and privacy incidents, reporting to the Data Protection Officer.
• Provide comprehensive legal support on UK commercial pharmaceutical law, including competition, commercial, data protection, marketing, anti‑bribery, litigation and disputes.
• Lead ethical and compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to the company’s Code of Conduct.
• Advise R&D and clinical trial teams on regulations, draft and negotiate clinical trial agreements.
• Support project and commercial execution to ensure activities are commercially sound and legally compliant.
• Conduct horizon scanning to identify legislative changes and mitigate associated risks.
• Ensure alignment of legal matters across relevant business areas.
• Maintain and develop legal tools, template documents and agreements.
