Legal Counsel – Operations (Contract)

About the role

Our client, a leading FMCG organisation, is seeking a Legal Counsel Operations professional on a contract basis to provide dedicated legal support for a high‑impact supplier programme. The role runs until the end of 2027 and focuses on contract management, risk mitigation and cross‑jurisdictional alignment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with global and regional legal teams to assess regulatory implications of supplier changes.
• Support the re‑opening, amendment and variation of existing supplier contracts, including payment term adjustments.
• Maintain oversight of contract sign‑offs, track programme timelines and report risks to governance forums.
• Identify and manage legal risks related to local law, enforceability and supplier engagement.
• Partner with Procurement, Finance and programme leadership to develop communication strategies and negotiation positions.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong commercial contracts experience, preferably within procurement or supply‑chain contexts.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑jurisdictional legal matters independently.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
