Legal Operations Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a skilled, tech‑savvy Legal Operations Specialist to join our fast‑paced legal team at a leading payment‑processing company. You will drive operational excellence, scale our legal tech stack, and streamline workflows by bridging legal expertise, technology, and data‑driven efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Support administration, integration, and continuous improvement of legal technology tools, focusing on Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems.
• Maintain and optimise the legal department’s Jira infrastructure, including workflow design in Jira Service Management, Jira Spaces, and Confluence knowledge bases.
• Identify and embed AI and machine‑learning tools into daily legal operations, such as automated contract review and AI‑driven search.
• Evaluate existing legal processes, pinpoint bottlenecks in merchant agreements, vendor contracts, and regulatory tracking, and engineer scalable workflows.
• Design dashboards and generate metrics within Jira and CLM tools to track legal spend, turnaround times, contract volumes, and team capacity.
• Manage relationships with legal‑tech vendors (e.g., Brightflag) and ensure maximisation of industry resources.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Legal Operations, preferably in fintech, payment processing, or a highly regulated corporate environment.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise CLM systems such as Ironclad, LinkSquares, Icertis, or Conga.
• Strong working knowledge of Jira (custom workflows, queues, SLAs) and Confluence documentation.
• Experience using generative AI tools, prompt engineering, or AI‑backed legal tech features.
• General understanding of legal operational challenges unique to payment processing and financial services.
