Legal & Regulatory Counsel

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Legal & Regulatory Counsel to join a global financial‑technology business. You will provide commercially driven legal advice on regulatory matters and commercial contracts, partnering with sales, product, and senior management across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day regulatory matters across the UK, US, EU and APAC.
• Advise on legal and regulatory implications of new products and services.
• Prepare and submit licensing applications and regulatory correspondence.
• Monitor regulatory developments and implement changes across the business.
• File notifications and submissions with authorities within deadlines.
• Support regulatory audits by coordinating information from internal teams.
• Draft responses to regulatory consultations and maintain a tracker of regulatory advice.
• Draft, negotiate and update a broad range of commercial agreements, including client contracts, service agreements, data and licensing contracts, confidentiality agreements, intragroup agreements and information‑security addendums.
• Develop and maintain contract playbooks, sales guidance and fee letters for bespoke arrangements.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in the UK and/or US.
• 3‑4 years post‑qualification experience in a regulated financial‑services firm or a financial‑services law practice.
• Demonstrated experience handling regulatory matters in both the UK and US.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex financial‑services contracts.
