Leisure Centre Duty Manager – Swanley

About the role

The client, one of the UK’s largest leisure and sports centre operators, is seeking a Duty Manager for a large multi‑use site in Swanley. You will support day‑to‑day operations, ensure health and safety compliance, and champion excellent customer service while leading a diverse team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily centre activities, including wet and dry areas.
• Maintain health and safety standards across the site.
• Drive customer service excellence and resolve member queries.
• Motivate and develop team members in line with company values.
• Manage cost control and drive income generation in all business areas.
• Ensure timely completion of tasks and meet operational deadlines.

Required profile

• Experience in supervisory or management roles within a wet and dry leisure operation.
• Strong leadership and team‑motivation abilities.
• High standards of customer service and communication (verbal, written, IT).
• Ability to create an environment where colleagues can reach their full potential.
• Willingness to achieve National Pool Lifeguard, First Aid at Work and Pool Plant Operator qualifications within a set timescale if not already held.
• Availability for day, evening, weekend and public‑holiday shifts.
• Successful completion of a DBS check prior to start.

Required skills

• National Pool Lifeguard qualification (or ability to obtain).
• First Aid at Work certification (or ability to obtain).
• Pool Plant Operator qualification (or ability to obtain).
