Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant – Full‑time (Temporary)

About the role

Spencer Clarke Group is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Bebington to recruit a Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant on a full‑time temporary basis. The role supports pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across both a dedicated SEND base and mainstream classrooms, helping them achieve academic and social progress.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEND.
• Assist children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs.
• Work within the specialist SEND base and, when required, in mainstream classrooms.
• Adapt learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
• Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
• Encourage independence, communication and confidence.
• Help create a calm, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to meet individual pupil needs.

Required skills

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – desirable.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Knowledge of Autism, ADHD and communication needs – highly beneficial.
• Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour‑management strategies.
• Relevant care, residential or youth‑work experience considered.
