Level 2 Teaching Assistant - Nursery

About the role

Veritas Education is recruiting a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support a Nursery class in a primary school in Bury. The role is term‑time only, 32.5 hours per week, and involves working alongside the class teacher to foster early learning and development.

Key responsibilities

• Support children’s learning and development within the Nursery classroom.
• Work with individuals and small groups to encourage confidence and engagement.
• Provide targeted support for children with additional needs where required.
• Help create a safe, engaging and nurturing learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Promote children’s wellbeing, independence and social development.

Required profile

• Hold a recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Recent experience working within a Nursery, EYFS or primary school setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Calm, patient and nurturing demeanor.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• High expectations and genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential.
