Level 3 Nursery Assistant – Flexible Short‑Term Roles

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Level 3 Nursery Assistant to provide short‑term, ad‑hoc and bank cover across a range of nurseries in West Mersea and the wider Colchester area. This flexible role allows you to gain experience in different early‑years settings while fitting around your personal schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily care, safety and development of children.
• Assist with play‑based learning activities and educational experiences.
• Promote a fun, nurturing and stimulating environment.
• Help with mealtimes, routines and personal care as needed.
• Work alongside nursery teams to deliver high‑quality childcare.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times.

Required profile

• Passionate about working with children.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Friendly, approachable with excellent communication skills.
• Flexible and adaptable to different nursery settings.
• Knowledgeable about safeguarding and early‑years best practice.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
