Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 1

About the role

This position supports a Key Stage 1 child with special educational needs on a one‑to‑one basis. Working alongside the classroom teacher, you will help manage daily routines, learning activities and behaviour, creating a positive and engaging environment for the pupil.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to a KS1 pupil throughout the school day.
• Assist the teacher with small‑group tasks and classroom routines.
• Help modify challenging behaviour using agreed strategies.
• Prepare and organise learning materials as directed.
• Monitor the pupil’s progress and report observations to the teacher.

Required profile

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Experience or confidence working with children of varying abilities, including SEND.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow teacher instructions.
• Patience, proactive attitude and genuine passion for education.
