Level 6 Early Years Practitioner (Teaching Assistant)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Level 6 Early Years Practitioner to join an Ofsted Outstanding primary school in Putney, South West London. This full‑time, temporary position offers the chance to lead the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, support staff development, and ensure high‑quality learning experiences for young children.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee planning, assessment and delivery of the EYFS curriculum.
• Lead, mentor and motivate the Early Years team to achieve outstanding practice.
• Manage behaviour and create a nurturing, positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support children with SEND and EAL needs.

Required profile

• BA (or equivalent) in Childcare, Early Years, Education or related field.
• Minimum two years’ experience in an Early Years setting.
• Proven leadership or staff‑management experience.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional references covering the last two years.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and best practices.
• Experience managing behaviour and fostering a positive learning environment.
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures and up‑to‑date training.
• Experience working with children with SEND and EAL.
