Li-ion Workshop Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Li‑ion Workshop Engineer to join our engineering team in Warrington. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing and maintaining lithium‑ion battery systems in a workshop environment while adhering to health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose incoming planned and reactive repair work accurately and efficiently.
• Repair and replace lithium‑ion battery components such as cells, stacks and control units.
• Perform fault diagnosis using CANBus systems and other diagnostic tools.
• Identify, order and fit required parts correctly.
• Complete repairs following company procedures, guidelines and H&S standards.
• Produce inspection reports, defect reports, timesheets and service documentation.
• Maintain workshop housekeeping and health & safety standards.
• Support colleagues and assist with Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) repairs when needed.
• Attend customer sites for repairs and inspections as required.
• Liaise with internal departments and customers to provide excellent service.

Required profile

• Electrical and/or mechanical engineering background.
• Experience working in a workshop environment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding abilities.
• Good understanding of electrical systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good IT skills and experience with computer‑based systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
